So, pretty much the best Spring break possible. Also the longest : P
Now I am back at university, with a genuine American cold and some shiny jet lag...
The flight back was uneventful. It wasn't full - the seat next to me was empty! Excitement! There was a guy a few rows back stretched out across three seats. He looked comfy : P Just before I left I caught a cold. An icky sinusy thing. Flying did not make it better - the descent made my face feel like it was gonna explode. I'm glad it didn't.
The plane was a 2-3-2 seater. Not sure the model number, but more leg room than last time I flew to Heathrow. Better movies this time around - I watched Sweeny Todd with dinner. Tried to sleep since I was feeling so gross, but it didn't work out so well. We landed more or less on time and after customs and everything I had an hour wait for the bus to Stansted.
When I got on the bus, I fell asleep. I slept the whole way to Stansted, waking up every so often to make sure I hadn't missed the stop. Of course, when we got there I has JUST missed the university bus (again). I got breakfast/lunch (a very delicious blueberry muffin and tea) and waited. There was a vending machine there that claimed to sell novels! This turned out to be nothing but LIES though, because what they were selling was magazines and sudoku books which are not novels at all! Bah.
When I got on the university bus I fell asleep again and had to force myself to stay awake when we got to Colchester so I wouldn't miss the University stop. This time I did NOT climb that ridiculous hill, and instead took a very roundabout way and two different lifts to get to "ground level" of the towers. I never would have figured that out the first time around.
I ran into Annie on the way up to the flat, which was good because it made the doors easier to navigate. When we got in, I commented on the state of the kitchen - it was cleaner than I've ever seen it! Annie said yeah, only she and Vicki are back yet. You can really tell. It's much different here without the boys - it's quiet, no one is smoking, the toilet is always flushed, you don't have to move someone else's belongings out of the shower before you use it, and there's not food rotting everywhere.
When I got in my room, there was a notice waiting for me from the accomodations office to let me know that the whole flat is being billed for the moron who kicked in manbeast's door. Fine. Only, the notice came on March 31st and payment was due April 7th. Argh. I turned right back around and walked out to get that sorted out. I had to go to three separate offices before someone could tell me no, there wasn't a fee for being late, and yes, I could give them the money. I got a receipt too just in case the moron fesses up, but I'm pretty sure that won't happen.
Back to the room and finally - my nap! I slept until... well I'm not actually sure, but when I woke up I had a shower and ate and then it was around 8:30 or so. After sleep in an actual bed and the shower I felt a lot better, but I'm sure I won't have any trouble sleeping again tonight. Tomorrow I plan to go grocery shopping before getting to the airport so that there will actually be food in the cupboard when I get back. Right now what's in there is the reject rice that tastes like plants, the reject soup that tastes like water, the reject soup that tastes.... just... weird... and some other instant soups and rice that are acceptable, but not really meals.
Tonight... i pack!
